We're finally home, for at least a few days anyway. After two graduations, four cities and more car time than I care to admit, it is very good to be back in my own kitchen and back to my regular training schedule. Both boys are officially graduated and I'm equal parts proud and exhausted. I'm ready to get in a little recuperation time then officially kick off summer. I have some happy news to share with you this week. I'm honored to be the June 2026 Featured Chef at US Wellness Meats. US Wellness has been my go-to grass-fed meat source for years, since shortly after the 2011 health scare that had me looking much more closely at what I was putting in my body. When animal protein is the foundation of how you eat, the quality of that protein becomes one of the most important food decisions you make. I was their Featured Chef back in August 2021 too and I just learned I'm the only chef they've featured twice in their 15 years of running the program. I'm not sure I have words for how much that means to me. The feature is a full Q&A on their Discover Blog: how I got into cooking, why grass-fed sourcing became non-negotiable for me, my favorite recipes, my desert island ingredients (spoiler: a perfectly reverse-seared ribeye still wins) and the cooking tip I think most home cooks miss. Read the full Featured Chef Q&A → The part you'll really want to know about: there's a $175 grass-fed meat giveaway tied to the feature. US Wellness puts together a Featured Chef Prize Pack every month. Here's what's in this one:
The contest opens Sunday June 1 and runs through June 14. There are several ways to enter, and you can find them all on the giveaway page. Enter to Win the June Tasty Food Bundle → One more thing I want to make sure you see. As part of the feature, US Wellness has set up exclusive discounts on two of my products that you can grab through the links inside the Q&A:
If you've been thinking about either, this is the best price. Thanks for being here, as always. Hit reply and let me know what you're cooking this weekend. Have a great weekend, Cheryl P.S. Next Friday I'm sharing a 2025 study on sarcopenia that left me thinking about why building and keeping muscle is genuinely one of the most important things any of us can do as we age. Keep an eye on your inbox. |

In 2023, my husband had open heart surgery. When something like that happens to the person you share your life with, you start looking hard at everything that might tip the odds in your favor. Diet, obviously. Exercise, obviously. We were already very focused on both of those. But my investigation also sent me deep into the research on a habit I'd always filed under "maybe someday or when I have the money": sauna. What I found surprised me enough that we invested in a Sunlighten sauna of our...
Happy Fourth of July weekend to everyone celebrating in the US and for those of you in other parts of the world, I hope your weather hasn't been quite as crazy as ours. I know my friends in Europe have be roasting in the heat like we have in Cincinnati, so I hope you get some respite from that soon. I'll keep this one short because if you're anything like me, you have things to do this holiday weekend. There's a cooler to pack, a grill to light and people to feed. So let's get right to it!...
